As the days get shorter and the temperature drops we begin to notice dark beers

As the days get shorter and the temperature drops we begin to notice dark beers being offered more frequently. Why is this? What is it about fall and winter that shifts and begins “Stout Season”?

Well to start, without the blazing sun beating down we may not need to quench a thirst with a quaffable beer. Or with a chill in the air we seek something with a higher ABV to help warm us from the inside. The richer, sweeter flavors associated with dark beers along with a smoother, silky mouthfeel are sought out in food as well as drink.

Whatever the reason may be, grab a decadent, dark beer at Old Rapp this Stout Season to satiate your palate. We will be featuring more dark beers through the rest of fall and winter. And if you can’t decide on just one beer remember we offer beer flights!
